Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester

Salary: £14,396 pro rata

Part time - Term time only 15 hours per week (11am - 2pm Monday to Friday) plus 3 days per annum during school holidays

You will directly support the students in their learning environment over the lunchtime period. Based at Doucecroft School, a converted estate in a beautiful setting near Colchester your main duties will include:

  • Working over the lunchtime period to support students in their learning environment.
  • To be directly involved with working in a classroom, in the dining room and on the playground supporting students to develop social interaction skills, communication skills and independent living skills.
  • To work closely with class teams to ensure the smooth running of the school day.

Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning - desirable
  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above - essential
  • Relevant experience working with students with autism or learning disabilities in an educational setting – essential
  • Experience working with students across the ability range and autistic spectrum - desirable
  • To be able to drive and hold a full driving licence – desirable
