The Opportunities Centre in Dereham, Norfolk, provides day opportunities both within the centre and externally in the local community undertaking a range of activities, exclusively for adults with autism, supporting people who receive residential support in our services, others who live at home and many who live independently within the wider community.

The environment is relaxed and never feels crowded, offering personalised activities and projects with a ratio of one instructor to two people or one to one support if required.  Our available opportunities include a variety of skill based and leisure sessions such as woodwork, craft, art and textiles, sports activities, IT and computers and horticulture.  Our life skills department offers basic life skills to assist adults in working towards independent living.  We have a sensory room accessible to people attending our centres when necessary and in some circumstances can be hired or used by adults with autism not otherwise supported by the centre.

At Dereham Opportunities Centre we firmly believe in promoting a positive image of people affected by an Autism Spectrum Condition. Participation in community-based venues such as our local leisure centres, cinema, supermarkets and cafes supports individuals with their social inclusion and to be actively involved within their community.”
