Fundraisers at Oaklands Holiday Park Kelly Champ and Debbie Allen have raised a massive £2,560 for Autism Anglia from their Christmas event at Oaklands Holiday Park in St Osyth. The day included Santa’s Grotto, stalls from local businesses and raffles with top prizes of John Lewis vouchers (Courtesy of Teber Group) and tickets to a show in London’s West End with a 4 course meal.

The pair were rushed off their feet at the event as people came flooding into the holiday park to enjoy the festivities and there were a multitude of donations of both cash and prizes for the raffle. They initially set a target of £1,000 but managed to over double their goal with the hugely successful event. Speaking to Kelly and Debbie, they didn’t even have time to eat as the evening was so busy and full of people!

The raffle alone made over £1,000 and they described it as ‘people just kept coming’.

Kelly and Debbie chose to fundraise for Autism Anglia for several reasons. Debbie’s granddaughter was recently diagnosed with autism and she wanted to support a charity which helps adults and children with autism. A number of people who visit the site also have autism so the cause was close to their hearts. To the two ladies, community is important and they wanted to support a local charity which is why they chose Autism Anglia.

They are now fundraising for Autism Anglia for the foreseeable future and have a multitude of events being planned for the rest of the year. Kelly and Debbie explained that they have already had people asking when the next event is and offering suggestions to what they could do.

Kate Hancock, Chief Executive at Autism Anglia said:

We would like to say thank you to everyone at Oaklands Holiday Park and also Vaults London, Lexden Wood Golf Club, Hidden Dragons Kung-Fu and Ipswich Town FC for donating some of the wonderful raffle and tombola prizes. We were so overwhelmed at the amount of donations received so thank you to everyone who got involved. With the support of the community behind them and a passionate, giving nature, we are so pleased that Kelly and Debbie have chosen to fundraise for us and we cannot wait to see what they have planned!

Well done and thank you to Kelly & Debbie!
