Autism Anglia is proud to have celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and everyone in the charity is so proud at how far we’ve come. Starting in 1973, the charity first built a specialist school for autistic children, which then led to the development of our Adult Services in the 1980s. Now, in 2023, we boast a gold standard Diagnostics Team, Supported Living, and Outreach Services and Opportunity Centres in two counties.

I have only been in post as CEO since August, but already I have seen such passion, commitment, and drive in all areas of the charity. The extra work that our teams put in make an incredible difference to the lives of those they’re supporting. From flying lessons to holidays, conquering fears to learning new skills, our staff make a genuine difference and I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to them.

This Christmas, we are appealing to you to help us continue our work. You help us to achieve so much; income generated through donations and fundraising help us to improve the essential services we provide to autistic people, to fill the gaps against the rising costs of bills and ensure that our charity continues to make positive changes for autistic people and their families for years to come.

This year, donations have helped us to install a new playground at Doucecroft School, helped put a new kitchen in Whitestone house and facilitated our DIY Days which have had such an impact across our sites. The money you donate also allows us to keep our grant applications running, get out to community events and means that we can constantly deliver the best care possible.

Difficult decisions had to be made recently, but our mission and commitment to autistic people remains the same. Your help is important and means that you can play an active role in supporting autistic people and their families.

We understand that not everyone is in the position to donate, but if you can, here are some ways you can do so:
