Location: Doucecroft School, Colchester

Salary: £8,925 per annum

Part-time: 25 hours per week. Monday – Friday 9.00 – 14.00 Term time only

39 weeks per annum plus 3 training days and to work 10 days per annum during school holiday periods as agreed with the Head Cook.

Assisting the Head Cook with the preparation of well-balanced healthy meals whilst ensuring the students’ dietary needs are met. You will be working as a team to maintain a high standard of hygiene and the smooth running of the main kitchen and dining areas including ordering and distribution of stock.

Your main duties will include:

  • Assisting with food preparation and cooking of meals.
  • To help maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, demonstrating consistently high standards of hygiene which includes cleaning the kitchen and dining area after two sittings of lunch have been served.
  • Following the Health and Safety and Environmental Health regulations and recommendations.

Our ideal candidate will be a great team player and have the following experience:

  • Food hygiene certificate - essential
  • Experience of food preparation, kitchen, cleaning and domestic duties - essential
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental Health - essential
