We are conscious that your fundraising plans for Silly Sock Day on the 3rd April will have changed in the current Coronavirus climate. Whilst we completely understand if you need to postpone your event, you can still have fun on any day of your choosing, with a virtual event. Here are some ideas you could try:-

  • Why not get crafty at home and create your very own Silly Socks? How creative and inventive can you or your children get with the textiles, recycling and art and crafts you have at home?
  • Make sock puppets or download our ‘Silly Soctopus’ from the resources on our website and have your very own puppet show! Another way to entertain the children whilst they are at home.
  • Challenge your family, or remote work colleagues, to ‘who's wearing the silliest socks?’ - the big reveal can be done via Facetime/Skype/Zoom and use that time to have sock party or disco!
  • Use our online resources to do some sock related activities. You can even hold your own assembly/presentation with our Power Point, suitable for children of all ages.
  • Do your daily exercise/dog walk in your Silly Socks

Whatever you get up to we would love to see your pictures using the hashtags #sillysockday #sockselfie #autismanglia on Social Media. We'll share as many as we can.

Of course it's not just autism awareness we're after - Silly Sock Day is still an important fundraising event for us - especially at this difficult time when so many other events are being cancelled.  Please use the Just Giving link below to donate or create your own family/work or individual sponsorship page.

We do however appreciate that fundraising for us is not likely to be top of your priorities at the moment so we will be postponing our official date to some time in the Autumn when the schools and offices will be open again. So rather than cancelling your event, we encourage you to join us later in the year or even holding it on another date that is convenient.  We will be happy to accept your donations all the year through.

We look forward to hearing your plans and seeing your Silly Sock Day photos – whenever you may hold your event - so please do keep us informed. We always love hearing from you.

Many thanks again for your continued support.

Please note that we will not be able to send out any more Fundraising Packs until we return to normal office hours.
