Schools, clubs and groups are an ideal platform for raising awareness, gaining a real understanding of autism and providing much needed funds for Autism Anglia. We have received fantastic support from schools, Scout groups, Golf Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Pubs and Business Networks over the years who have chosen us as beneficiary of their fundraising.

Children’s Groups and Schools

Children are fantastic at learning new ideas and concepts, joining together and doing something for a good cause. So why not let us host an assembly on autism, or come and chat to your club about how it affects people? We can give practical examples of how a person with autism senses their environment differently to others, making it a fun and interactive learning experience.

We have great fundraising ideas for your school or club. Every year we run our Silly Sock Day which as the name suggests involves you donating money in exchange for wearing your silliest socks (preferably uniquely decorated!) and having lots of Silly Sock theme related fun all day. You can add to the day by holding your own other fundraising events/challenges, such as a cake sale, fashion show, sock knitting competition, quizzes and finding the most unusual uses for socks! We give you a fantastic FREE fundraising pack which has lots of practical fun resources, sponsor forms, posters, stickers, collection box, and returns forms.

Perhaps something like a sponsored silence or walk could also work well for your school or club. Cake sales always do well and your school or club could theme them, to make them extra exciting and raffle off a large cake that goes to the winner of ‘Guess the weight’.

Groups & Clubs

We would be delighted to come and talk to your group or place of work to raise awareness of autism and the work that we do – or why not choose us as your Charity of the Year (or month). We can supply you with collection tins, posters and other fundraising items to help you on your way and you can be assured that the funds you raise will stay local to this area – and even purchase specific items at Doucecroft School or one of our Opportunity Centres for example. We are happy to come to cheque presentations and create photo opportunities if necessary.

We have many sporting events that adult clubs can participate in, which we can obtain discounted tickets for. From skydives, to basic 5k runs, marathons, or ‘Spartan’ & ‘Rat’ races for those wishing to really challenge themselves and get mucky! We would love you to get some friends together and raise money for us in this fun and challenging way. See our Challenge Events page for inspiration.
