The Big Fire Walk for Autism Returns: Are You Ready to Take on the Challenge?

Last year, a group of incredible supporters stood at the edge of a path of glowing embers, took a deep breath, and did something many people would never imagine themselves doing.

They walked barefoot across hot coals.

Together, they raised more than £6,000 for Autism Anglia, helping us continue to support autistic people and their families across the region, conquering fears, stepped outside their comfort zones, and proved that extraordinary things can happen when people come together for a cause they believe in.

Now, we’re doing it all again. And this year, we’re determined to make an even bigger impact.

The Big Fire Walk for Autism Returns in 2026

We’re delighted to announce that The Big Fire Walk for Autism is returning on Friday 9th October 2026 at Colchester Rugby Club.

This unforgettable fundraising event offers participants the opportunity to take on one of the most unique challenges around: walking barefoot across a bed of burning embers.

The Fire Walk is about far more than walking across hot coals. It’s about challenging yourself, pushing boundaries, building confidence, and discovering what you’re capable of achieving.

And all while raising vital funds to support autistic people and families across our region.

An Atmosphere You’ll Never Forget

Anyone who attended last year’s event will tell you the same thing: the atmosphere was incredible.

As friends, family members, colleagues, and supporters gathered together, there was a real sense of excitement, anticipation, and encouragement. Participants supported one another every step of the way, turning individual achievements into a shared celebration.

The moment people completed the walk was something special. The cheering. The smiles. The sense of achievement. For many, it became one of the most memorable challenges they had ever completed.

And knowing that their efforts were helping autistic people and families across East Anglia made the experience even more meaningful.

Why Take Part in a Fire Walk?

Everyone has their own reason for signing up. Some participants see it as an opportunity to conquer a fear. Others want to challenge themselves and do something completely outside their comfort zone.

For many, it’s a bucket-list experience they’ve always wanted to try and for some, it’s simply about supporting a cause close to their heart.

Whatever your motivation, The Big Fire Walk for Autism offers the chance to achieve something extraordinary while making a lasting difference to your local community.

Every Step Helps Support Autistic People and Families

Fundraising events like The Big Fire Walk play an important role in helping us continue to deliver vital support and services across East Anglia.

Funds raised help us provide:

  • Community support for autistic people and families
  • Advice and guidance through our Community Connect services
  • Opportunities for autistic adults and young people
  • Specialist education and support
  • Community projects that reduce isolation and build confidence
  • Services that empower autistic people to thrive

Every pound raised helps ensure more people can access the support, understanding, and opportunities they deserve.

No Experience Needed

One of the biggest misconceptions about fire walking is that you need to be particularly brave or experienced to take part.

Not at all! Before the walk, participants receive full guidance and support from experienced instructors who explain the process, build confidence, and help everyone prepare for the experience ahead.

Early Bird Places Available Now

If you’ve ever thought about taking part, now is the perfect time to secure your place.

We’re currently offering a special Early Bird registration fee of just £12.50 per person. That’s a saving of 50% on the standard registration fee of £25. However, this offer is only available until 31st August 2026, and places are limited.

Let’s Beat Last Year’s Total

Last year, together, participants raised over £6,000 for autism support and this year, we’d love to go even further.

Every additional participant means more support for autistic people and families. More awareness. More opportunities. More impact. So, with your help, we can make 2026 our biggest Fire Walk yet.
