This is a fantastic opportunity to work within an innovative and forward-thinking PBS and Therapy Team of a well-established regional charity. Autism Anglia provides ongoing training and supervision, continuing professional development and support as well as an extensive induction on commencement of employment.

As a member of the Positive behaviour Support and Therapy Team for Autism Anglia’s Adult Services you will provide speech and language therapy for adults with autism across the organisation.

Newly qualified practitioners with relevant experience will be considered for this post.

Your main duties will include:

  • Assessing and reviewing the individual communication needs of the people we support within Adult Services
  • Delivering individual and group therapy where required
  • Delivering training to the wider team to develop their skills in effective communication with individuals who have autism

Essential:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Membership of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

Desirable

  • Dysphagia training

Experience:

  • Experience of working with individuals who have autism and/or a learning disability
  • Competent clinical knowledge of communication needs associated with autism
  • Experience of intervention techniques such as Picture Exchange Communication System, intensive interaction, and Total Communication approaches.

It is essential that the successful applicant holds a full driving license.
