As an integral part of our Finance team reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will manage all aspects of the Payroll Function in our people-focussed charity. Responsible for ensuring an efficient and evolving customer focused Payroll service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate process of the monthly payroll
  • Maintaining and responding to the live internal payroll helpdesk
  • Management and development of the working relationship with the established HR Team.
  • Responsibility for all compliance aspects with HMRC and similar
  • Leading the year end process
  • Working with the Finance Director to continually challenge and develop the payroll systems to deliver the best solution possible
  • Reconciliation of monthly cost journals for payroll.


To excel in this role you will have the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels and be able to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of payroll.  A self-motivated, completer-finisher who takes great pride in contributing to a wider team effort and delivering highly accurate payroll operation.

Ideally you will have experience in payroll administration or management of a payroll function.  

The successful candidate will be happy to provide contextual examples of running a similar operation and articulate the principles that drive them to justify why they are the right candidate to support our staff of approx. 400 people.
