A caring and determined local teenager, Harry Dagnall-Hood, has set himself an inspiring challenge to walk 40 miles over the month of December to raise money for Autism Anglia, a charity based in Colchester that provides vital support and services for autistic people and their families across East Anglia. 

Harry, who lives in Manningtree and attends Market Field school in Colchester, is autistic himself and lives with scoliosis. His campaign aims to raise money that will help Autism Anglia continue its essential work, including specialist advice, outreach services, and community support that make a real difference to people’s lives. 

There are 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK and many families rely on charities like Autism Anglia for guidance, understanding, and practical support. Every donation to Harry’s challenge will go directly towards these life-changing services. 

Harry’s mum, Nicola, explains his motivation for taking on the challenge: 
“Harry has gone through a lot and has come out strong, brave, resilient and more determined than ever…Now he wants to test his walking and motivation skills, push himself in a way he’s never done before, and help others at the same time.” 

Autism Anglia’s Fundraising & Community Engagement Manager, Anna Rogers, has welcomed Harry’s fundraising initiative and highlighted the importance of community support: 
“We are incredibly grateful to Harry for choosing to support Autism Anglia. Every pound raised helps us provide vital services, from specialist advice to community support programs, and we couldn’t do it without the generosity and commitment of people like Harry.”
