Location: Clacton – possibly some hours in Colchester

Basic Salary: £8.72 per hour (£16,778 per year pro-rata)

Additional payment will be made for sleep in duties and enhanced rates of pay will apply to this role for weekend working.

Hours:  24 hours per week (16 hours to cover maternity leave, 8 hours permanent with the possibility of additional shifts in our Colchester services)

We are currently recruiting staff to support a lady of 33 who lives in her own home in Clacton.

She has Autism and is verbal and likes to spend her time at home, she has a great sense of humour and is a fascinating person to work with.

She’s a wonderful individual, she likes to use her iPad and watch her favourite TV channels on Sky.

The things she likes to do:

Sensory activities like tac pac

Sticker/sticking activities

Making homemade pizza

Inviting her friends over parties

Visiting her family 

If you have similar interests and want to spend your day supporting this young lady to live her life to the full then this is a great opportunity for you. You will be part of a dedicated and committed staff team who also work with the lady whose overall goal is to support the lady to access the community more. 

About you 

Previous experience of supporting people with Autism would be an advantage but is not essential.  What matters most is that you are patient, kind and caring, along with a desire to support people to live a fulfilling life with as much independence and choice as possible.

You will be supporting the lady in her own home, working on a shift pattern that will include weekend work and sleep ins, so you will need to be flexible.
