Location: Peldon Campus, Peldon Colchester 

Salary:  £15,796 per annum, £8.21 per hour (Band A)

Additional payment will be made for sleep in duties and enhanced rates of pay will apply for this role for weekend working. 

Hours: Full time – 37 hours per week to include, covering weekends and sleep ins on a rota basis.

Autism Anglia’s Peldon Campus comprises of three residential houses and one supported living service for adults with an autistic spectrum condition. You will be a flexible, positive, energetic and enthusiastic individual who will work as part of a team and your main duties will include:

  • Supporting people with ASC whilst encouraging and developing the individual’s life skills.
  • Ensuring safety and well-being and the quality of support given meets the identified needs of the individual person.
  • To provide a high quality of care and contribute to the smooth and safe running of the house.
  • To support people who we support during intimate care.
  • Following and implementing Autism Anglia’s policies and procedures and making sure accurate records and documentation is maintained.
  • To ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained including monitoring and maintaining resources, organising laundry and keeping the house clean and tidy.


  • Level 2 Diploma in social care or willingness to work towards the qualification - essential
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a supported living environment.
  • Ability to participate in a range of physical activities - essential
  • Experience with emotionally and physically challenging situations and behaviours - essential
  • Good communication skills - essential

It is desirable that the post holder should have a full driving licence.
