Support work is not just a job it’s a vocation.

You can make a positive difference to someone’s life.

Come and join Autism Anglia where our staff are passionate about their work and the people we support, ensuring they have a personalised, quality driven, person centred service.

We are currently recruiting staff to support a gentleman of 38, who lives in his own home in Crockleford Heath near Colchester.  He has recently moved to his new house and is looking for a fresh start.

He has Autism but is verbal and likes to talk about his favourite things and is a fascinating person to work with.  He likes his routines and has an excellent memory of dates that things happened.

He’s a wonderful individual and likes to use computers, especially the You Tube Channel.

The things he likes to do:

Car Drives to Wivenhoe and Felixstowe

Meals out, cake and ice cream

Postman Pat, Pigeon Street and Thomas The Tank Engine

Books and Nursey Rhymes

Play Parks

The BBC News

If you have similar interests and want to spend your day supporting this young man to live his life to the full then this is a great opportunity for you.

There is never a typical day, as it is driven by what the gentleman wants to do.  There is nothing more important to him than ensuring his routine is in place, and someone to share his experiences with.

About you

Previous experience of supporting people with Autism would be an advantage but is not essential.  What matters most is that you are patient, kind and caring, along with a desire to support people to live a fulfilling life with as much independence and choice as possible.

You will be supporting the gentleman in his own home, working on a shift pattern that will include weekend work and sleep ins, so you will need to be flexible.

What we offer at Autism Anglia:

Comprehensive Training (Fully Paid)

25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays - pro-rata

Access to Perkbox

Pension scheme

Death in service benefit

Refer a friend scheme

If you’re looking for a meaningful job and feel you have the qualities to help us continue to make a positive impact to the gentleman’s life then please apply.

To apply

In the first instance please send your CV to [email protected] or if you would like further information please call Head Office on 01206 913785.
