We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety and Facilities – Assistant Manager to work in our well-established regional charity which provides a range of services to people with autism spectrum conditions (ASC)  and their families.

As Health and Safety & Facilities Assistant Manager you would be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities management & health and safety across the Organisation, ensuring that Autism Anglia adopt and maintain a proactive approach in compliance with current legislation. You will also promote a culture of safe working practices and ensure quality outcomes from all FM works. Your main duties will include:

  • Assist in the development of a strategic facilities management function and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule
  • Ensure the ongoing management of reactive works throughout the Organisation
  • Manage all FM works to ensure quality outcomes, value for money and retention of work records, including compliance certification
  • Ensure that Autism Anglia complies with all statutory duties and relevant best practice standards
  • Support the implementation of a positive safety culture throughout the Organisation
  • Ensure that Autism Anglia’s Health and Safety Policies and procedures are implemented consistently across the Organisation 

Experience: 

The ideal candidate will be confident in their own judgement and have the ability to anticipate challenges and identify proactive solutions. 

  • Hold (or be working towards) a relevant professional qualification in Facilities Management or Health and Safety, e.g. BIFM/IWFM Certificate/Diploma, NEBOSH National General Certificate, NCRQ Certificate
  • Have professional knowledge of effective Facilities Management systems and processes
  • Have professional knowledge of effective health and safety management strategies and best practice
  • Previous experience in a similar role focused upon Facilities Management or Health and Safety
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience of auditing and redesigning a Facilities Management function
