Salary: Manager £25,000 - £35,000, Assistant £22,000 - £25,000 both dependent on experience

 We have exciting opportunities for a Health & Safety Manager and an Assistant, to work in our well-established regional charity which provides a range of services to people with autism and their families.

Managing and overseeing all aspects of health and safety across the Organisation, you will ensure Autism Anglia complies with current legislation; you will work proactively with managers to promote a culture of safe working practices. Your main duties will include:

  • To ensure Autism Anglia’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures are implemented consistently across the Organisation.
  • Take action to mitigate and minimise the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks, operational loss, accidents and injury.
  • Assisting in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required.
  • To advise senior management team and trustee’s on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating actions plans to ensure compliance across the Organisation.
  • Take proactive action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks 

Experience:

Our ideal candidates will be a confident in their own judgement and have the ability to see problems that may arise and find solutions.

  • A relevant professional qualification or working towards e.g. NEBOSH National General Certificate - Essential
  • Extensive knowledge of effective health and safety management strategies and best practice – Essential
  • Previous experience in a similar role managing health and safety - Essential
  • Experience of development of policy and procedure – Essential
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook – Essential
  • Experience of auditing and redesigning a Health & Safety function - Desirable
