Inclusive Valentine’s Event Supports Autistic Adults at Autism Anglia’s Connect Centre

Last week, Autism Anglia’s Connect Centre in Colchester transformed into a joyful, love‑themed celebration as autistic adults from across our Adult Services came together for a vibrant Valentine’s Party filled with music, dancing, connection, and genuine community spirit.

Events like this are far more than just moments of fun, they play a vital role in creating inclusive spaces where autistic adults can socialise comfortably, express themselves freely, and strengthen meaningful relationships. The atmosphere in the room said it all: warmth, laughter, and a shared sense of belonging that highlighted just how strong and supportive our community truly is.

An Afternoon Filled with Joy, Connection, and Great Music

From the first song to the last dance, the party was bursting with positive energy. Guests enjoyed an afternoon where they could relax, have fun, and simply be themselves, something we’re passionate about through everything we do.

A huge thank you goes to Chosen Sounds, who kindly donated his time to DJ the event. His talent and generosity helped create a brilliant atmosphere and made the celebration even more special. 🎧💖

Why Events Like This Matter

Social opportunities can often be limited or challenging to access for autistic adults. That’s why our Connect Centre focuses on offering inclusive, welcoming environments where people can:

  • Build friendships
  • Share experiences
  • Explore interests
  • Celebrate together

These moments of connection contribute so much to wellbeing, boosting confidence, reducing isolation, and helping people feel truly part of their community.

Thank You for Supporting Our Work

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports Autism Anglia, whether through donations, partnerships, volunteering, or spreading awareness. Your kindness enables us to continue delivering uplifting experiences like our Valentine’s celebration, and to expand the opportunities available for autistic adults across East Anglia.
