Applications to be part of Autism Anglia’s 2027 London Marathon team are now open!

You could be joining over 56,000 other runners taking on the most iconic 26.2 miles in the world at the TCS London Marathon 2027. If successful, you will visit some of London’s famous landmarks on the route whilst fundraising to make change for people with autism.

If you would like to become part of Team Autism Anglia, please fill out the application form and give as much information as possible. We are looking for people that have a connection to our cause and those that will commit to raising a minimum of £2,300 solely for Autism Anglia.

Once you have applied for an Autism Anglia charity place in the 2027 TCS London Marathon, your application will be assessed by our Fundraising Team. You will be informed of the outcome of your application by telephone or email by July 2025 (or within a month of submitting your application, if you apply after July). We expect to receive far more applications than we have available race places, so unfortunately not everyone who applies will be given a place.

If you have been offered a place, agreed to the fundraising pledge, and paid your £100 entry fee, Autism Anglia will reserve a charity place for you. We do, however, have the right to revoke your place at any time. We would rarely do this if the registration has not been paid or the bulk of the fundraising has not been met in the set timeframe. There are considerable costs to the charity for our places, which is why these terms are in place.

Autism Anglia Charity Place Terms & Conditions

The TCS London Marathon is an important fundraising event for Autism Anglia. We need all our charity place runners to honour their pledge and raise a minimum of £2,300 before 31 May 2027.

These terms and conditions ensure that we can support our runners in the best possible way, while raising as much money as possible towards our services for autistic people.

What you can expect from Autism Anglia

Once you have applied for an Autism Anglia charity place in the 2027 TCS London Marathon, your application will be assessed by our Fundraising Team. You will be informed of the outcome of your application by telephone or email by July 2025 (or within a month of submitting your application, if you apply after July). We normally have a high demand for our places and we have a limited number which means unfortunately not everyone who applies will be given a place.

If you are offered a place with us, have agreed to the fundraising pledge, and paid your £100 entry fee, Autism Anglia will reserve a charity place for you. We do, however, have the right to revoke your place at any time. We tend to do this if the registration has not been paid or the bulk of the fundraising has not been met. We will work with you to ensure that your fundraising targets are met.

We will send you a fundraising pack which contains information about training and fundraising, and an Autism Anglia vest to wear on race day.

We will send you regular support emails to help with your training and fundraising.

You will have access to Autism Anglia’s TCS London Marathon Team Facebook group and/or What’s App group: a fantastic source of tips, advice and support. We may also arrange to meet up in person if runners agree.

We will organise cheering points and a post-race meet up to make sure you have a truly fantastic race day experience.

What we expect from you

Registration: Autism Anglia will send you an email from ‘London Marathon/Lets do This’ asking you to complete your registration to run with an Autism Anglia charity place. You must complete this within two weeks of receiving the email. We will contact you at least once via email and phone about completing your registration. If you do not complete it, you will not have a place in the London Marathon, and we reserve the right to offer your spot to another charity place applicant.

Fundraising pledge: You agree to raise a minimum of £2,300 for Autism Anglia. This does not include Gift Aid.

We require you to raise at least:

£1,000 by 31^st December 2026
£1,750 by 31^st March 2027
£2,300 by 31^st May 2027

Online fundraising pages: Using Enthuse or JustGiving will be an important part of your fundraising. You must set an online fundraising page up within two weeks of confirming your charity place. We expect you to start receiving donations on your online fundraising page within one month. As an Autism Anglia charity runner, you will agree that 100% of the money raised through your fundraising page will come to Autism Anglia and will not be split with any other charity.

Existing donations to Autism Anglia: Any donations you already make, or have made, to Autism Anglia cannot be included in your fundraising total.

Gift Aid: We cannot include the amount raised through Gift Aid in your fundraising total. However, please encourage your sponsors to Gift Aid their donations where possible – this can add an extra 25p for every £1 donated, at no extra cost to them.

The Running Show: You will need to collect your race pack from the TCS London Marathon Running Show in the week before the race. Please see the race organiser’s website for details.

Entry fee: The £100 entry fee helps to cover Autism Anglia’s costs and is therefore non-refundable under any circumstances, this includes but is not limited to dropping out due to injury and a change in work or social commitments. The fee may be carried over to 2028 if the Autism Anglia team decides to defer your place. Please note this is not guaranteed as it will depend on circumstances beyond our control at the time.

Photography & videography: Images, film, and interview material taken during the TCS London Marathon of Autism Anglia participants may be used by Autism Anglia to promote our sponsored challenge events in the future.

Should you not wish your image to be used in this way, please contact Autism Anglia at fundraising@autism-anglia.org.uk to opt out or for further information.

The materials will be stored on Autism Anglia’s secure servers and new content will not be created from these after 5 years without your consent. In the case of material published online and offline, it is possible that ongoing, existing use of this content will continue for longer than 5 years.

Injury and deferrals: If you are injured and unable to take part in the event, please let Autism Anglia know as soon as possible. If you tell us before December 2026, we may be able to offer the place to another applicant. We will assess deferral requests on a case-by-case basis and will only be eligible if you have reached your fundraising target required by the time of the deferral request. Autism Anglia cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer you a place in the event the following year, but if we do then your entry fee and sponsorship will carry across with your deferral. You will only be able to defer for one year.

If Autism Anglia cannot offer you a place in the event the following year, you understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and it is your responsibility to contact your donors to check if they are happy for sponsorship monies to go to Autism Anglia, and aware that any request for refunds of sponsorship must be made by the donor to Autism Anglia.

Unless you consent to other uses of your data, we will collect and process your Personal Data solely to enable us to provide our services to you in connection with the Event. We will share it with TCS London Marathon for the purposes of registering your place in the Event and assignment of a race number. Your information will not be passed to other third parties without your consent
