It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Doucecroft School!

Thanks to the generous donation of a fantastic Christmas tree from Olivers Plants, learners and staff embraced the festive spirit in full swing. A team of enthusiastic “little elves” had a wonderful time decorating the enormous tree, bringing festive cheer to the school.

Adding to the celebrations, the school took part in Christmas Jumper Day, where learners and staff proudly wore their festive woollies to support Save the Children. The event was filled with joy and creativity, and the school was delighted to raise over £88.

Headteacher Sam Lawrence reflected on the importance of the season at Doucecroft, saying:

“Christmas is a special time at Doucecroft School, and it’s wonderful to see our learners and staff coming together to celebrate.

We have a strong sense of community here, and we make sure that everyone can join in the festivities in a way that suits them best.

Some of our learners enjoy writing and exchanging Christmas cards, posting them in our special post box in the reception area, while others enjoy decorating the tree or getting creative with festive crafts. Our dedicated staff team work hard to ensure every child feels included and can experience the fullness of the season in a way that is meaningful to them.”

The celebrations perfectly capture the school’s strong community spirit and dedication to inclusion, ensuring every learner can enjoy the season in their own way.

With decorations up, jumpers on, and smiles all around, it’s clear the festive season at Doucecroft is off to a magical start!
