Doucecroft School has made history by becoming the first school in the country to receive the prestigious Gold Award for whole school inclusion from the Multi-Schools Council.
This award celebrates the school’s outstanding efforts to ensure that every student feels comfortable, valued, and included. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Doucecroft staff, who have continually strived to foster an inclusive environment.
Special recognition goes to the school’s Multi-Schools Council ambassador team—Billy, Chloe, Jacob, and Arthur—who played a vital role in achieving this milestone. Their contributions and commitment show the school’s ethos of empowering young voices to lead the way in inclusion.
Over the years, Doucecroft has collaborated closely with the Multi-Schools Council and other schools to share best practices, inspiring positive change across the education system.
Headteacher Sam Lawrence shared her pride in the school’s achievement, saying
“The Multi-Schools Council works to break down negative perceptions about children with disabilities or special educational needs. We are delighted to partner with them and to receive this special award, which recognises the brilliant efforts at Doucecroft to ensure every learner is included and their voice is heard.”
This recognition highlights Doucecroft’s unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive community where every child can thrive.
