Location:       Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester

Salary:           Dependent on experience (Band 7/8A AfC)

Hours:            Up to 35 hours per week, possibility of school term time only; negotiable.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our established Diagnostic service which is a charitable service currently operating from our school in Eight Ash Green. 
As part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Psychologists), you will provide autism diagnostic assessments, and support the development of a post-diagnostic service.

Alongside the existing and highly specialist MDT you may provide psychological input to the pupils within Autism Anglia’s Children’s Services based at Doucecroft School, a converted estate in a beautiful setting in Eight Ash Green, Colchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established charity.  Autism Anglia provides ongoing training and supervision, continuing professional development and support as well as an extensive induction on commencement of employment.

Your main duties will include:

  • Autism diagnostic assessments using gold standard assessments of ADOS and ADI-R
  • Advising and collaborating with the Diagnostic team in pre and post diagnostic support, service development.
  • Opportunity to work alongside the Therapy Team to assess and formulate the psychological needs of new and existing pupils within the school.
  • Delivering individual and group therapy, where required
  • Delivering training and consultation to the wider professional team

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, registered with the HCPC - essential
  • Experience of working with individuals who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder – essential
  • Experience of autism diagnosis – essential
  • Trained with gold standard tools, such as ADOS and ADI-R- desirable
  • Experience in a managerial role- desirable
