Autism Anglia are excited to announce the expansion of our gold standard diagnostic service to widen our multidisciplinary team due to increased demand from private clients and new NHS partnerships. We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time or term time Clinical Psychologist to join our established Diagnostics team, delivering within the wider context of Autism Anglia’s mission “Working together to put the needs of autistic people at the centre of everything we do”.

As part of the friendly and supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team (Speech and Language Therapists and Clinical Psychologists), you will provide autism diagnostic assessments based at Doucecroft School, a converted estate in a beautiful setting in Eight Ash Green, Colchester.

This post would be suited to an experienced Band 7 Clinical Psychologist, specialising within the autism field, who wants to be part of a service that has been evaluated by partners as having an excellent diagnostic approach adhering to NICE guidelines. NQPs may also be considered with training in the relevant diagnostic tools.

Your main duties will include:

  • Autism diagnostic assessments using gold standard assessments of ADOS and ADI-R
  • Working in the Diagnostic team in pre and post diagnostic support, service development

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, registered with the HCPC - essential
  • Experience of working with individuals who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder – essential
  • Experience of autism diagnosis – essential
  • Trained with at least one of the following gold standard tools: ADOS and ADI-R. Autism Anglia will fund ADOS/ADI-R training where necessary.
  • NQPs may also be considered with training in the relevant diagnostic tools
