What We Do for Adults - Study Centres

Jigsaw Study Centre

Daytime education, training and recreation activities are provided at the Jigsaw Study Centre situated close to our adult residences. Jigsaw provides places for 50 adults each week. Some live in our residential units and others attend on day placements from the wider community. Education and activities are provided within a structured environment and include life skills, art and craft, computing, PE, textiles, and woodwork.

All students have the opportunity to take part in the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN). Service users also access Further Education Colleges in the Colchester area.

Jigsaw Study Centre have produced their own web site - click here to see it.

Norfolk Study Centres

Two small study centres are located in the middle of Dereham allowing service users to participate in a growing range of activities. They shop for their lunch, visit the new library and enjoy the growing café culture and range of shops of our market town. The centres are an ideal environment for the development of service users’ daily living skills.

Service Users can access Internet and e-mail. One service user now uses e-mail to correspond with his father and there has been steady improvement in writing skills, with several service users corresponding regularly with parents and friends. One of the centres has recently been refitted with a new kitchen and is mainly used for cooking.
