Colchester Charity Jailbreak
(sponsored by Escape Nightclub)
This year's Colchester
Charity Jailbreak took place on Saturday 18th
April 2009 on a bright, blustery spring day!
Teams had registered to take part to help raise
money for Autism Anglia, Essex Air Ambulance and
Essex Wildlife Trust.
Participants had up to 24
hours to get as far away from Colchester Castle
as possible without spending any of their own
money or using their own or friend's transport.
They were literally ‘on-the-run’!

 |
Teams were released at 11am
from the castle by Colchester's mayor, Mrs
Margaret Fairley-Crowe.
The teams competed in three
categories:
Furthest Overall
Distance which was won by Christine
Goodwin and her daughter Tamsin Goodwin-Connolly
who reached the Norwegian capital Oslo!
Most Unusual
Destination was won by Jo Churchill,
Serena Nevard and Pip Bowers who reached a small
rural village called Shackleford in the south of
England.
|
Furthest Distance using most modes of transport
was won by Natalie White and Tracy Devlin who used
a bus, coach, train, taxi and walking to get to
Plymouth!
The 8hr Jailbreak
was won by Autism Anglia's very own Trustee Gill
Norton and her husband Mike, who got all the way
to Edinburgh by train!
We are looking for more teams with a sense of adventure
and fun to take part in next year's Jailbreak which is
taking place on 17th and 18th April 2010! Call now to register your interest!
If you are interested in taking part please contact your
chosen charity to register and start planning your
escape!
This year's Jailbreak was sponsored by
