Cambridge Family Study of Autism
The Cambridge Family Study of Autism, funded by the Medical
Research Council, is a project based in the Autism Research Centre
at the University of Cambridge.
The project will run for two years until 2012, and will use
magnetic resonance imaging (a safe form of imaging that does not
use any X-rays) to investigate the cause of the social impairments
that occur in people with autism.
The study is looking for volunteers meeting the following
criteria:
- Families including two young people aged between 12
and 18 old, where one child has no Autism Spectrum
Condition and the other has been diagnosed with Autism
or Asperger's Syndrome.
- Control Participants aged between 12 and 18 years
old with no Autism Spectrum Condition and no relatives
in their immediate family with Autism or Asperger's
Syndrome.
