If you'd like to run for Autism Anglia, we would love to hear
from you. We can support you by providing sponsor forms, a
branded running vest or t-shirt and some publicity for your
efforts!
There are a number of different running events to choose from
- a few of them are listed below to whet your appetite:
The 2012 Norwich 'Business Challenge' Triathlon
For something a little different, the 2012 Norwich Triathlon
will be held at Whitlingham Country Park, Norwich on Sunday 1st
July 2012. The event includes both Olympic (standard) and Sprint
triathlon distances for individual competitors, as well as
Olympic distance relay classes.
For the first time this year, event organisers Tri-Anglia
have introduced a ‘Business Challenge’ competition in the relay
class. Designed to encourage first time triathletes, Business
Challenge teams simply need to find someone in their
organisation who can swim 1500m (open water), someone who can
cycle 39k and someone who can run 11k.
Tri-Anglia are fantastic at providing support to triathletes,
particularly those looking to get involved in the sport for the
first time. They will be able to assist with training schedules,
training days and advice regarding the right kit.
If you would like more information about the 2012 Norwich
Triathlon, please email the Race Director, Mark Philo at
markphilo@hotmail.com.
If you are interested in finding out more about the inaugural
Business Challenge, please email the co-ordinator, Clare Haylett:
clare@clarehaylett.net.

ASICS British 10k London Run -
8th July 2012
What could be more special, in this Olympic year, than
standing on the start line of the most prestigious 10k road
race? ...Crossing the finish line and raising money for Autism
Anglia.
If you're interested in taking part in this sought after
event Autism Anglia would like to hear from you. We have 6
spaces available which will guarantee your place at the start
line.
The race takes place just 19 days before the start of the
Olympic Games and will give you the opportunity to run the
course that will form the route of the London 2012 Olympic
Marathon - taking in the sights of London along the way - Big
Ben, The London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square and
Westminster Abbey.
These guaranteed places cost just £40 each and include a free
Autism Anglia running vest to wear on the day. In return all we
ask is for a very modest commitment of raising £150 or more - so
why not sign up now?
This race always sells out, so book early to avoid
disappointment. Please call the Fundraising team on 01206 577678

Royal Parks Half Marathon - 9th October
2011
On Sunday 9th October, Autism Anglia supporter Abbie Shannon

Well done!

Great Eastern Run - 9th October 2011
The Great Eastern Run is a half marathon which takes place in
Peterborough.
Stuart and Lee (pictured) from cleaning company 'Stulee' (who clean
our office and Study Centre in Dereham) put themselves through
the paces and they have raised almost £1,000, which will be
split between the three adult residential houses and the Study
Centre in Norfolk.
adidas Women's 5k Challenge -
11th September 2011
This event is for women of all ages and abilities and takes place in London's Hyde

Bespak Grand East Anglian Run - 1st

great opportunity for energetic supporters to raise money for
Autism Anglia, and additional prizes are also offered!

Supporter Philip Whiteley ran
this year's London Marathon and we are extremely pleased
that he has chosen to raise money for Autism Anglia! He was dressed as Mr Potato Head for added fun, and is pictured
here in costume after finishing the marathon.
He has raised over £670! If you would like to sponsor Philip on his marathon effort,
please visit his online fundraising page
here. Thank you, and WELL DONE Philip!
Unfortunately Autism Anglia does not have any charity
places for the London Marathon; however we are always
interested to hear from anyone who has their own place.
We can support you by offering you an Autism Anglia t-shirt,
providing sponsorship forms and helping you publicise the event –
just let us know!
New York Marathon - 7th November 2010
Supporter Richard Hickling took a trip
'across the pond' to run the New York Marathon on 7th November.
The money he raises will go towards our new Adult Study Centre
in Dereham.
Richard
was inspired to run by his godson Kyan, who lives in the USA and
has autism. Richard said "Through Kyan I understand the
challenges people with autism will face in life and as such,
have decided to use my marathon run to support a local autism
charity."
Richard completed the marathon in an amazing 4 hours 40
minutes!
Richard is the first person to take part in an overseas
marathon for Autism Anglia and this perfectly demonstrates that
although we are an Anglian charity, you can raise money for us
anywhere in the world!
Tiptree
10 - 10th October 2010
The Tiptree 10 mile road race took place in Essex
and Autism Anglia's very own Fundraising Co-ordinator
Dan Bates ran to raise money for our Family Support
